4-Ft. Black Shaggy Tabletop Unlit Christmas Tree

Jul 5th, 2010 by admin | 0

We’re starting a new tradition this Christmas: Not following any old traditions. We used to have a holiday ham; this year we’re having a holiday pan-seared black grouper with ancho chile polenta. We used to sing Christmas carols; this year we’re singing TV theme songs. And we used to put up a standard Douglas Fir; this year we’re putting up the Kurt S. Adler Shaggy Tree in Black. We’re putting the past behind us with 65 tips of shimmering black metallic foliage and dazzling style. In our former lives we would have put a tall tree on the floor; now we’re putting this 4-foot tree up on a table. Maybe we’ll put ornaments on it maybe we’ll pass. We’re making up the rules as we go along. It’s Christmas. No one said it couldn’t be fun.About Kurt S. Adler Inc.The story of Kurt S. Adler Inc. begins after the close of World War II when Mr. Adler tried his hand at exporting general goods. Business grew and European economies flourished so he turned his focus to importing. Ornaments were offered by the 1950s and beautiful handmade angels from East and West Germany found an enthusiastic audience in America. Adler expanded the line to glass ornaments from Czechoslovakia hanging ceiling decorations from Germany and miniature lights from Italy. The next decade Adler started importing holiday decor from the Far East. Colorful snow globes and other animated items became a collector’s favorite. In the 1980s and 90s Fabriche santas nutcrackers and other collectibles were ushered in. Recent additions include animatronics fiber optic trees interactive advent calendars and synchronized musical decorations.
